9. Rachel Borders: Drab to Fab
The first things that popped into my head when we got this assignment was a dress made on the first season of Project Runway (laugh at me all you want). In the first episode the designers were told that they needed to go to a open street market and collect the materials for their outfit. Not your tradition clothing materials. One designer, Austin Scarlett, bought a bunch of corn and made a dress out of corn husks. He really did turn the worthless corn husks into gold! I think it is a great example of lead to gold.
